Oh thank goodness. There is some good left in this crazy world.

Ok, maybe that was a little dramatic but you know what I mean – there were actually some spectacularly beautiful gowns on the Golden Globes red carpet this year. If you haven’t seen my worst dressed list, you can check it out here , and trust me there are some catastrophes. But I can always count on a handful of celebs to brighten my day and remind me that actually, fashion is fantastic and when done right, it can give you all the feels.

You might not agree with me on some of these; in fact you might think I’ve lost my marbles. But that’s the best thing about this sartorial spiral – it is completely subjective. You like what you like and what you don’t is not for anyone else to judge. The power lies in your ability to wear your clothes with conviction. Even if you change your mind down the line, the key is to own it. That’s all.

So here we go, my best dressed and absolute favourite looks from the 2016 Golden Globes.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley could wear a potato sack on the red carpet and look exquisite, but honestly this dress is just so beautiful. THIS is how to wear a dress from the neutral colour palette and win. the fit is flawless, her hair and makeup is clean but youthful and the gold shimmer means she is literally glowing. plus she wore the best accessory – a sparkly new engagement ring from Jason Statham.

when you look like a Golden Globe, how could Brie Larson not be a best dressed? plus those abs, I can’t.
kate-hudson-golden-globes-2016 MICHAEL KORS
at first I thought this Atelier Versace was a little much (as in a little less), but Kate Hudson looks INCREDIBLE and like she holds so much of her own strength and power. I love it. the colour of the dress, the fit like a teeny tiny sequined glove, the abs, the hair. nailed it.
taraji-henson-golden-globes-2016 STELLA
YASSSSSSSS. Taraji P. Henson you sexbomb! this dress is so perfectly fitted and shows off her incredible body (how much for those arms?). the bag is killer and I love her kind of messy/edgy hair for such a simple and elegant dress. plus it is a total 180 from last year’s vampy black look which was also a top pick. go Cookie, go!

I absolutely loved this. it is so not Golden Globes but Eva Longoria kills it. I love the floral accents and the cap sleeve on her (which I usually hate but hello Eva Longoria).

the current face of Louis Vuitton in Louis Vuitton and she looks like an angel sent from heaven – with a cheeky little nod to sex appeal from the back. beautiful.

Laverne Cox slayyyyyyed.

this is sensational. the dress is a LOT to deal with, which is why Ms. Channing Tatum did so well to keep the rest of her look simple; from hair and make-up to her minimal accessories.
another BIG dress on an incredibly petite woman; but Zendaya looks PHENOM in this. well, well done young lady.

olivia-wilde-golden-globes-2016 MICHAEL KORS
sorry but didn’t you just have a baby, Olivia Wilde?
kate-bosworth-2-golden-globes-2016 DOLCE
one of my top looks from the night – Kate Bosworth in this sensational Dolce & Gabbana piece of masterful art.
cate-blanchett-golden-globes-2016 GIVENCHY
Cate Blanchett is made for Givenchy and the fact that they have maintained this clearly symbiotic relationship through the fashion house’s different creative spells and directors is testament to Cate’s unequivocal match to their brand. OBSESSED.

the detail that goes into this is why Haute Couture is unrivaled. LOOK AT THIS DRESS! this is art.

dying. dead. gone. bye.

ok. so I cannot stand Jennifer Lawrence and I am always dismally underwhelmed by her (contractual) Dior choices on the red carpet. but this red cut-out, 3D creation is PERFECTION. and I am a firm believer in giving credit where credit is due (even though I hate her Hillary Clinton hair). this might even be one of my favourite dresses from this year’s awards.

And as always, some deliciously dapper gentleman…
second year in a row I have fallen in love with David Oyelowo. absolute perfection, head to toe.
the ultimate love of my life.
