KUNG HEI FAT CHOY πŸΆ

Happy Chinese New Year from Hong Kong my darlings! The incoming Lunar Year’s celebrations usher in the Year of the Dog according to the Chinese zodiac (look how cultural I am, you can even hit me up for the stories behind these concepts #perksofbeingakindergartenteacher).

There are so many meaningful customs and traditions to this holiday, and one of them is the purchasing of new clothes to display, and attract, good fortune. That’s a ritual I can fully support! And with red being the lucky colour associated with this holiday (again, ask me why cos I can tell ya) as well as a major player of this-just-finished fashion season; I’m quite happy to have injected it into my wardrobe. I mean, red has just had its moment so there’s plenty of strong, bold pieces available (and on sale) if you’re looking to add it into your rotation.

Now look, this blog post doesn’t have my usual empowering rants or deliberations. Maybe there’s something about my growing self-confidence and connection to my divine feminine power that has influenced my recent love affair with red. Maybe I just learned to like the colour. Who knows, it’s 2018. But mostly, I promised you more content and this outfit was cute. That’s about it. Plus that new red CNY bucket bag just needed to be captured.

So there you go friends and lovers.

Happy New Year to those celebrating; I’m quite happy to have another chance at a fresh start. Take it in.
